My New Year's Honors for 2023

OK, it's not 2023 here in the states, but in most of the rest of the world, it is. So, I'm going ahead and posting my annual list.

First things first. There will be no new Ranger Crushes this upcoming year. That's because, for the first time since 1995, the same cast is coming back for a third season.

Now, onto the new inducteees. 31 new full Crushes, one Crush-in-Waiting. No new Illustrated Crushes.

From Mystery Science Theater 3000, one episode of Monk, The Guild, Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, three episodes of Generator Rex, one episode of The Librarians, Marvel's Spider=Man, and The Legend of Vox Machina, Felicia Day. (She can send me all the cheesy movies she wants. Just bring me down to Moon 13 and send Max on a space walk afterwards.)

Also from MST3K and one episode of Doom Patrol, Emily Marsh. (She could use companionship other than the Bots on the Simulator of Love.)

From Law and Order: SVU and CSI: Cyber, Molly Burnett.

From the revived original Law and Order, two episodes of Law and Order: SVU and one episode of NCIS: New Orleans, Connie Shi.

Also from Willow, Ellie Bamber.

From Ms. Marvel and the upcoming The Marvels, Iman Vellani. (And no, she doesnt have to be on the In Waiting list. She turned 20 back in August.)

From Young Sheldon, the Spy Kids movies and Family Guy, Emily Osment.

And finally, the new Crush-in Waiting, from Eternals, Lia McHugh. (She'll only be waiting until November, though.)

So, that's this year's class of Crushes.

In non-Crush news, in May I'll be taking my third Disney Cruise, this time, on the newest ship in the fleet, the Disney Wish. It's to celebrate a landmark birthday. I wont say which landmark, or when exactly, but, it is actually after the cruise. We'll also be spending two days in Tennessee (in Dolly Parton's neck of the woods) and two days in Orlando before hand. (No theme park visits. The closest we'll get is Disney Springs.)

A Bittersweet Post

I dont usually post at this time of year, but, today, something has happened that I must address,

Anyone who knows me from the CPB knows of my fondness for Power Rangers, and especially female Rangers. And I had a list of enemies, who were characters in romantic, or presumed romantic relationships with my Ranger Crushes. And at the top of that list was Tommy. The original Green Ranger, later White Ranger, later Red Ranger and finally Black Ranger. Part of the first romantic kiss on Power Rangers. With Ranger Crush #1, Amy Jo. After she left the show, he eventually started a relationship with Ranger Crush #2. It's canon as of 2018 that they got married and had a son.

Because of this kiss, he became GARamid Enemy #1. I established a hefty bounty on him, in Capper Currency.

And now, that bounty will never be redeemed.

GARamid Enemy #1 is dead. At his own hand.

At one time, this would have been cause to celebrate.  But under these circumstances, I cannot. His return to the show in 2003 eased my ill will, since he had no interest in my Crush that year. (He was a teacher, and she was one of his students. And she wasnt even a Ranger. She was my first civilian Ranger Crush.) He's returned to the show twice since then, in guest roles. The last time is when it became canon that Tommy had gotten married and had a son. The son was heard, but not seen, and he had a slight Australian accent, just like Ranger Crush #2.

So, I will not celebrate his passing, but I will not mourn him either. And his spot on the Enemies Lst has already been filled, by one of the current Rangers. While there has been no one the lips kisses on Power Rangers since 1995, he and one of my current Ranger Crushes did come close.

That concludes this year's New Year's Honors.  Will next year's class be this big? Probably not, since this one technically covers two years.

So far, there's no major plans for this year. Next year, however, Im hoping to take my first plane ride, for my first trip to Disneyland. But that's over a year away.
